The interior designer kept a brave face as he was booted off the reality TV series, telling long-term love Justin Ryan: "It's all good in the hood."
McAllister told hosts Ant and Dec his exit was "bitter-sweet" because the group had developed an "amazing sense of community".
The interior designer said: "Justin and I have lived together for over 20 years and we have our own world and our own way of doing things.
"Within a few days people started to take on their own roles and community happens, it was incredible.
"We've shared every single other life adventure that we've had. The whole bitter-sweet thing, the fact that Justin's not here right now, that we can't talk about what's happened is really quite sad."
Meanwhile veteran Hollywood star George Hamilton inadvertently left former Hollyoaks actor Stuart Manning in tears after the pair had a heart-to-heart chat.
Hamilton told the actor: "I think you have the best shot of winning the whole match as an all-round hand. I think it's more important for you to win this show for your career and for your life than the others."
Choked with emotion, Manning took himself off to a quiet part of the camp and cried.
He was followed by former Mis-Teeq singer Sabrina Washington, who went to find out what was wrong.
The actor said: "I'm missing my dad and something George said to me hit home. George is a poignant man and it caught me for five minutes, completely got me.
"He said be yourself and open up a bit more and I find it so hard sometimes.
"I find it difficult and I get upset, and when he said that I thought about my family and I lost it a bit and didn't want to cry in front of everyone else."
Camp mates also teased Manning for flirting with Washington after Manning decorated her bed with a canopy.
"I'm surprised he hasn't pulled two beds together," quipped cheeky chef Gino D'Acampo.
The celebrities decided that Manning and D'Acampo should do the Bushtucker Trial, called Slip N Slide, which involved collecting stars while being in slime-filled perspex tubes.
They triumphantly returned with all 10 stars.
McAllister's exit came a day after model Katie Price - aka Jordan - used the programme to split up with cage fighter boyfriend Alex Reid.
She announced the split live on ITV, adding: "I've done a lot of reflecting. I think it's best I'm on my own, I just don't want to be in a relationship. I hope we can remain friends."
The 31-year-old said she missed her children and that being on the reality show reminded her of estranged husband Peter Andre.
The couple originally met on the show, but divorced in the spring after five years together.
I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! averaged 8.7 million viewers last week, the show claimed.

you are not the only one who has not one iota who this man is, i watched the show for one night and had to keep asking the missus who is that, who is that , and even then she had no idea. Unfortunately the word 'Celebrity' in England has been so watered down that it is fast becoming a derogatory term akin to the word 'Chav'
