Monkee Micky Dolenz swings in to Hairspray stage role
Evening Standard Updated 09:21am on 26 Nov 2009Monkees star Micky Dolenz, 64, is to appear in hit musical Hairspray.

The singer/drummer takes over the role of Wilbur Turnblad in the show, also starring Chloe Hart, at the Shaftesbury Theatre from 2 February.
Dolenz has already appeared on Broadway in Aida, Grease and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.
Brian Conley, who played Edna Turnblad, returns to the show on the same date.
