Sarah Brown finds herself a new Nowhere Boy

Sarah Brown (pictured with Aaron Johnson) swapped the cares of Downing Street for the premiere of the John Lennon biopic, at BAFTA in Piccadilly.

Sam Taylor-Wood joked that auditioning Aaron Johnson as her leading man, and now her fiancé, was done fairly: “We saw over 300 potential Lennons and after seeing him eighth I knew he was perfect. He is utterly brilliant and I'm not biased at all.”

David Walliams (pictured with Taylor-Wood) offered his praise, “It's not cluttered with annoying in jokes about the Beatles and tells a story no-one really knows about Lennon. It was mesmerising.”
But artist Tracey Emin (pictured right with Pet Shop Boy, Neil Tennant at the Quintessentially after party ) will be sticking with art: “I made a film a few years ago and I hated every moment of it. I'm very hands on and like being able to do everything myself which isn't a good recipe for being a film director. You have to have a certain sensibility to direct. I'd just scream at people all the time.”

Precious is a new-style weepie but one that is much more bracing than depressing
