Updated 15:49pm on 9 Dec 2009Commuters at Baker Street station are in for a surprise as it seems Robert Downey Jr, dressed as Sherlock Holmes, has taken up residence underground.

Double take: Is this the real Robert Downey Jr
A wax figure portraying Robert Downey Jr in his latest role has been placed on the platform before being moved to Madame Tussauds on December 14.

Replica: the wax figure is the spitting image of the actor
The figure is dressed in a replica of one of the movie costumes and will be featured at the attraction in a set inspired by the film.

Trick: commuters look surprised to see the "actor" underground
Sherlock Holmes opens in UK cinemas on Boxing Day.

I use the station everyday and I still haven't seen 'him'. This saddens me.

Oh my god, that is just beautiful. It does look like Robert. Well that is truly a way to make people keep looking. Will they also be placing one in the museum in California - so that we can all go see it?? I was lucky enough to go a few months ago to see his Tony Stark and Iron Man wax figures in California. They were fantastic. I hope they place one of Robert's Sherlock Holmes there as well. Fantastic, the statue is truly perfection.

Sheer perfection. I wish this Robert made of wax here in my garden. Though I would rather have the real one.
