Jane Turner, the star of cult Australian comedy Kath And Kim, is to make her West End debut in the British premiere of a true story about two friends from her Melbourne college days.

Turner, 49, pictured, is in Holding The Man at Trafalgar Studios from 23 April to 3 July. The play is based on the memoir of Timothy Conigrave, who fell in love with his football captain, John Caleo, at high school, leading to a 15-year affair.

Conigrave died from an Aids-related illness in 1994. Caleo, who was also HIV-positive, died in 1992.
