Davina McCall becomes Big Brother housemate

Updated 09:51am on 28 Jan 2010

Celebrity Big Brother presenter Davina McCall became a housemate for the first time after sneaking in to the house dressed as a chicken.

McCall has hosted the show for almost a decade but has never been a housemate.

She entered the house last night following the evictions of businesswoman Ivana Trump and glamour model Nicola Tappenden.

McCall climbed into Nicola Tappenden's chicken costume and headed into the house to trick the celebrities.

After she went into the diary room, McCall said she was so nervous that she was shaking.

"I'm really frightened," she told Big Brother.

"Can I come and talk to you if I need to?"
The remaining housemates had no idea that Tappenden had left.

McCall was banned from speaking in the house so she did not draw attention to her real identity but Jones immediately guessed it was a trick, saying: "That's not Nic."

He said Tappenden did not walk like the person in the chicken suit and the housemates speculated that Trump had returned in disguise.

Speaking from the diary room, McCall told Big Brother's Big Mouth: "They are terrorising me. They sussed me immediately."

She added: "They were trying to carry me into the pen so they could make me talk.

"I thought at first they would rip my head off."

Even though she was wearing Tappenden's jewellery, McCall said it was easy to spot she was not the glamour model because she was "twice the width".

McCall's spell as a housemate ended shortly afterwards when viewers saw her appear on Big Brother's Big Mouth on E4, which was hosted on her behalf by Emma Griffiths.

So glad it is almost over only just one more programme to endure which I shall not watch. I was loving this celebrity show but cringed and was embarrassed every time DM came onto the screens, reeling about the stage and shouting her head off. She told Stephanie she was a mother of 3 and could not spare time to have her nails done, so if she is such a devoted mother why is she making such a fool of herself on national tv and being an embarrassment to her husband and family. Just hope she stays working for Sky and we have seen the last of this mouth woman. Perhaps she could take time for dancing lessons and I DO NOT MEANS STRICTLY COME DANCING. Why can't she go to America, sorry so did Cat Deeley but she came back.

Now it has got boring. Davina in the house has ruined the ending.
