X Factor reject Lucie Jones sings with Kym Marsh and The Cheeky Girls in chart bid
Updated 09:23am on 2 Mar 2010Lucie Jones, the Welsh singer who sparked an outcry when she was voted off The X Factor in favour of Jedward, is making a bid for the charts.

She will join Coronation Street star Kym Marsh, actress Caroline Quentin, former T'Pau singer Carol Decker, GMTV presenter Penny Smith and the Cheeky Girls to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The celebrities are re-recording Cyndi Lauper's classic track Girls Just Wanna Have Fun to mark the start of women-only fundraising event Race for Life.
Celebrity Big Brother's Nicola T, glamour model Danielle Lloyd, former Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon, ex-EastEnder Lucy Benjamin and former Mis-Teeq star Su-Elise Nash are also putting their vocals to the track.
DJ and singer Sonique is fronting the single, returning to the microphone for the first time since her breast cancer diagnosis last June.
The single also features a number of women who have been affected by cancer and will be released on April 26.
Teenager Jones hit the headlines last year when she was up against Irish twins John and Edward Grimes and Simon Cowell had the deciding vote of the X Factor judges.
He opted for Jedward, despite previously calling them "vile creatures".
His decision, which meant the judges were deadlocked and the twins were saved in a public vote, led to more than 3,000 complaints.

She's a fake Hannah Montanna wannabe - her "rural little village" is a council estate suburb of Cardiff. And she has fat legs!

There is no such thing as bad publicity. Jedward were kept on because it made the daily headlines. So much for a "talent" show. Listen to the presenters begging people to phone - reason is they CHARGE YOU for that call. For those of limited intelligence that means they are making lots and lots of money every time you call. The more worked up and angry you get the more you call to vote and the more money they make. Would any of these shows be the same if they were not allowed to charge for calls?

The fool Cowell claimed she was the best female singer on X factor in week 4 then voted for jedward over her the following week! Bizarre decision. Bizarre man!
