Cheryl Cole 'ready to move on and file for divorce'

Updated 08:58am on 22 Mar 2010

Cheryl Cole is reportedly set to file for divorce in a matter of days.

The Fight For This Love singer broke things off with husband Ashley following allegations that he had been unfaithful with a string of women.

No longer fighting for this love: Cheryl Cole is said to be ready to move on with her life as a single lady

The Mirror has said she is planning to file for divorce within a week but will not be asking for any money from footballer Cole.

A source told the newspaper: "Cheryl has turned a corner and is now ready to move on.

"But she doesn't want a messy divorce - it must be as quick and as amicable as possible. She's not looking to profit and was never with him for his money. She doesn't want a penny from him."

The insider added: "She's spent weeks now yo-yoing, not knowing whether to take Ashley back. But she is ready to get on with her life and realises divorce is the only way forward."

This news comes after earlier reports that the Girls Aloud star was going to wait for six months to reassess her marriage.

Get on with it then and stop dragging it out in the media.

i hope she does not get back with ashley then she wont cope cause she'll b constantly worrying about his whereabouts(basically paranoid) thats hard to deal with, especially since this aint the first time, she proved she was strong the first time but now she should be stronger and walk away, good luck to her. ps to the media, GIVE THEM A BREAK WILL YA!

Get real, people - she's a fairly untalented individual with a previous conviction for aggravated assault. She needs any publicity she can get to distract people's attention from both of those unassailable facts and the state of her so-called marriage is as good as anything. If it wasn't the divorce and "oh, the pain" it would be "we're so happy and perfect". Anything to keep the uneducated masses entertained.

I agree with Rogan, leave them alone. Its a private matter.

You can see she still loves him and its becoming very difficult for her.

Rightly or wrongly, the media have become impossible.

"If the papers only print what interests people and they print this stuff about CC, then what does that say about the people?"

You are obviously a man so you are not supposed to understand that females love this sort of dross. That is why magazines sell by the millions and wherever/whenever she appears in public screeching/shreaking females appear.

Reporting on something that hasn't happened yet only puts pressure on people to follow through rather than step back and take a deep breath before commiting themselves to a major step. How about leaving them to deal with their own problems for a change?

The guy is a jerk of course, that's well known. But even jerks can have a working marriage if left in peace - if given a chance to resolve problems between the couple concerned.

I think she is behaving like a real lady.

She doesn't want his money?

How many women would say that?

Ashley is the real loser, not Cheryl.

Watch him go down hill with all those other bimboes after his money.

If the papers only print what interests people and they print this stuff about CC, then what does that say about the people?

We suffer from far too much trivial media. Dumbing down as never been faster. CC loves all this attention as it adds to her popularity and consequently her bank balance.

Lets stop it here. Write to your paper and tell them not to print anymore about this woman or any other partially talented, publicity seeking clothes horse. All women are hereby banned from watching X factor or buying any of the products she generates. Do not buy womens magazines until they print stories that encourage the thought process even slightly. No more watching Eastenders or Emmerdale or any other brainless nonsense. Lets change the world. Demand better and only buy better and the better will prevail. At the moment we are sinking in a soup of mediocraty and making societies' intellectual polluters rich.

Always buy the Evening Standard though - cos it's free.

Cheryl wants to stay as a Wag - with the world cup coming up, she wouldn't want any females taking Ashley's attention away from the World Cup or let him be free to date any females. She knows how to drag this out on Ashley.
