Mel Gibson 'threatens to hit ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva with a bat'

Updated 09:22am on 13 Jul 2010

Mel Gibson told his ex-girlfriend she needed a "bat in the side of the head".

The actor - who has been dropped by his agent in the light of audio tapes which hear him threaten former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva with burial in a rose garden - is heard in newly released clips telling her during an argument she should be hit around the head.

Tapes revealed to RadarOnline.com hear him say: "You need a f***ing bat around the head. Alright, how about that?"

Audio tapes: Mel Gibson is heard screaming at ex Oksana

At a later point in the tape Russian-born Oksana says: "You're going to answer one day, boy, you're going to answer."

The Braveheart actor responds asking her if she is threatening him, to which she says: "I'm not the one to threaten."

Mel adds: "Threaten ya? I'll put you in a f***ing rose garden you ****. You understand that? Because I'm capable of it. You understand that?"

An extended release of a previous clip also hears Mel admit to hitting the Russian singer in the face while she held their two-month old baby Lucia.

She says: "What kind of man is that? Hitting a woman when she's holding a child in her hands? Breaking her teeth twice in the face! What kind of man is that?"

Mel responds: "Oh, you're all angry now! You know what, you f***ing deserved it."

I am always stunned by the number of people who always blame the woman no matter what a man does to her! She recorded his threats so people would believe what she was saying about him hitting her, how many men beat up their wives or girlfriends and get away with it for lack of evidence! Even if she did have other motives for recording him it doesn't alter the fact that he's a violent aggressive man who broke her teeth and threatened to kill her and there is absolutely no excuse for that whatsoever! Lorna... the man who beats up his wife or girlfriend 'in these kinds of situations' is the baddie don't you think, or do you think thats actually ok?!

Simply a typical Irish-Catholic beast. No surprise whatsoever.

Mr Gibson, over a number of years, appears (so it might be alleged), to have a slight problem with 'Drinkies'. Between this, and the extreme form of Catholic Faith he is alleged to have, might just explain his outbursts.

Where I come from, this would possibly indicate that somebody is a few sandwiches short of a picnic, a few pence short of a full shilling!!

no man should hit a woman but some women give up their womanly rights by the things they do and say. I don't know enough truth about the situation to give a just opinion. but I can say MEL she isn't worth it , we men must think with our right heads!!

Doesnt matter what kind of a woman she is no woman deserves to be beat.. rebecca, ireland,

I don’t know about that Rebecca; what about the Myra Hindley’s?

Lets be honest here; some men and some women deserve what they get; although I am only speaking selectively etc; this is not a generalisation etc.

In truth; we do not know the whole story? Some women are just as devious and evil, as some men are, so I am not being sexist or thuggish here?

Why is the man always portrayed as the baddie in these type of situations? - Lorna, Birmingham,

Yes keep your dignity Mel. Your alcoholism, racist outbursts against blacks and jews and domestic violence have covered you in dignity. What a hero and great role model you are.

Sounds like a carefully orchestrated tape by a devious woman.

In Scotland 'a bat on the head' is a euphamism for 'a slap around the ear'

Damn-all to do with hitting with a bat !.

This divorced "Catholic" could have easily had a vasectomy after ending his long and fertile marriage. He will be eternally bound to this "gold digger" because of their unfortunate child. Mel's lack of self awareness and insight is shocking in someone this old and intelligent. A typical toxic narcissistic bully who cannot cope when he doesn't get his way.

Kerry, Purley

Aside from your puerile insults towards all Scots, because you disagree with my opinion, -you seem to miss my basic point.

-I would never defend violence towards a woman, or towards anyone else for that matter.

I only point out the possibility of some women being devious enough to carefully lay traps for unwitting men, driven to rage by nasty underhand comments devised to make them utter all sorts of thoughtless threats,
and then just by chance, to have a tape-recorder handy.

I'm sure my wife and daughter will be surprised to learn that 'I obviously think it's alright to hit women'.

And for the record, -I've never eaten a 'deep fried mars bar' in my life, nor intend to.

Nor do I condone underage drinking despite your assertions to the opposite.

I do admit to having sunk more than a few 'pints of heavy' in my youth, -
and as for the rebuilding of Hadrian's wall, there are many Scots who may well agree with you, but for reasons of their own !

I don't think football's a very good reason to brag at the moment,
-do you ?

Definitely a tape that has been carefully orchestrated by a devious woman - you only hear his side of the exchange NOT what actually provoked it.

Anyway, what type of woman sleeps with a married man and promptly gets herself pregnant by him?! (Get pregnant by a rich man and you're set up for life sweetheart) Sounds like Mel has been well and truly screwed (no pun intended) - it's looking as though she is definitely in line for lots of the lovely Gibson millions that's for sure.

Keep your dignity Mel - she aint worth it!!

Hey Huggy, in Scotland they think deep fried Mars bar is a healthy option, a pint of heavy is a refreshing drink for children, and the Scots have a great football team. there again, you obviously think it is alright to hit a woman. What an advert you are for rebuilding Hadrians Wall, only this time, higher.

Shocking! After all, he is not a hero, as everyone saw him on screen. Man that raises a hand against a woman can hardly be called a man at all! Shame on you, Mel!
