Vanessa Perroncel denies John Terry affair in first TV interview
Updated 08:31am on 11 Aug 2010Vanessa Perroncel gave her first TV interview following her alleged affair with ex-England captain John Terry - saying she would like to get back with former boyfriend Wayne Bridge.
The lingerie model tells GMTV's Kate Garraway that "there was never any malicious intention in what I ever did".
She denies having an affair with Terry, who was stripped of the England captaincy following reports about their relationship, saying that the pair were "friends".
The model, whose ex-boyfriend Bridge was close friends with Terry and played with him for England, says of her relationship with Terry: "Friends, we were friends. That's what we were."
Asked whether she had had an affair with the married father of twins, she replied: "No, I think I made that clear.
"I denied that from the start but people didn't want to hear. I've never said, 'Oh yes, I've had an affair with John Terry,' I said, 'No, he was my friend."'
Asked if Terry's wife Toni Poole believed her, she replied: "Yes, I believe she did, yes."
The French underwear model denied Terry gave her money to keep quiet over the allegations, saying: "Absolutely not. I didn't take a penny from him."
Asked if she felt guilty about the fall-out from the alleged affair, she said: "I felt like it was getting out of hand, more than guilty. Because like I said, there was never any malicious intention in what I ever did."
Perroncel said of getting back together with Bridge, the father of her young son Jaydon: "It would be lovely, but you know, Wayne might not feel that way. Whether we get back together or not, you know, crazier things have happened."
Terry was sacked as England captain in February after reports about his alleged affair put pressure on England boss Fabio Capello to act.
The interview was being broadcast on GMTV this morning.

The Question that should of being asked was, have you ever had sex with john Terry?, not, have you ever had an affair? Having an affair could imply that it was something over a long peroid. Would of been much more interesting answer.

Not only was there no evidence of any pay off, but none on the said abortion.......Why do the press destroy innocent people. This had a knock on effect on the world cup.

If the affair story was a fabrication, why didn't she or Terry sue for huge damages through the courts ?
Anyone that employs Max "the lying *unt" Clifford is guilty in my book.

Well considering this was all sooo innocent, why in hell didn’t this Woman speak up sooner!
No good keeping this in-house when the National press, TV & Mags was expoliting it all over the place…Goodness this even rocked the England camp!
Love I agree we have ‘Good friends’, but pretending this just a squabble amongst mates that got outta hand shows why there is No respect for WAGs!

I am inclined to agree with you Barry. If there was evidence then the press would definitely have found it.
MJ - I think you are the one being naieve. Have you not heard that the tabloid press make up stories or exaggerate the truth? At the end of the day for whatever reason the media love to knock people down and never more so than the England team. The timing of that story shattered any hopes of England unity going into the World Cup. We were never told what exactly the injunction was - it doesn't necessarily have to mean it was trying to stop them printing a report about an alleged affair because that was never confirmed. As they say never let facts get in the way of a good tabloid story.

Given that there is no money to be made out of a friendship, I feel I have to believe her version of events.
Let's face it, if the sleaze merchants in the press could have found evidence that she had taken money from Terry, they would have plastered it across their front pages.
Sadly, once again, the public and the FA have jumped in feet first without thinking. Makes you wonder how we may have performed in the World Cup id we had had a real captain on the pitch.
