'Jolly' Adrian Chiles will help Christine Bleakley have fun on Daybreak

Updated 10:39am on 1 Sep 2010

Christine Bleakley said that co-host Adrian Chiles' "jolly demeanour" would help her cope with the early starts as the pair prepare to present the new ITV morning show.

The former One Show hosts will be reunited on Daybreak which starts on Monday at 6am.

She said: "Ignorance is bliss at this stage and a lot of people have said I should do a couple of week's trial in the period leading up to it but I thought why spoil two more weeks of your life.

"I'm sleeping as much as I can.

"Not sure if I relish 3am wake up calls but I am sure Adrian's jolly demeanour will make it all the more enjoyable."

She remained tight-lipped about the first guests lined up to join the pair in the new studio on London's Southbank but admitted: "We've got royalty coming up at some stage."

Bleakley followed Chiles out of the BBC two months after he left when it emerged Chris Evans was being lined-up to take his place on The One Show on Fridays.

She said they were glad to be back together and it "just felt right" when they were reunited on the sofa for the new show.

But she admitted to tuning in to watch the show that made her name and said even she saw the resemblance between herself and lookalike new presenter Alex Jones.

She said: "I have lots of male friends who when they were reading it in the papers said 'you're lucky to be compared with her' so I'm very grateful actually."

But Chiles said he had not watched it, saying: "I can take an Arsene Wenger line on this and say I didn't see it because I haven't watched it."

Daybreak will feature some familiar faces from GMTV including Kate Garraway, John Stapleton and Hilary Jones alongside new presenters including Lucy Verasamy who joins from Sky.

It will be followed by Lorraine Kelly presenting her own show from 8.30am to 9.25am.

SM, nice retort buddy.these pair are dreadful and i assume that itv will loose a lot of viewers? Her with the dreadful squeeky voice and him who appears to need a shower when he is on.
And his comments when he presents a football match are
pathetic.i just wish that someone would get them to read what the average person thinks about them
