Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton unable to have children
Evening Standard Updated 10:46am on 19 Jul 2011Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton has been told that she has little chance of conceiving a baby naturally after years of extreme dieting.
Houghton, 27, whose weight plummeted following her divorce from pop star husband Preston in 2007, used to make herself sick after eating and drink water to fill herself up.
The reality TV star, who dated Crimewatch host Rav Wilding, said she had decided to speak out to raise awareness of her condition.
Houghton told Heat magazine she went to a gynaecology and fertility clinic after getting pain in her left ovary.
She said: "I was at home and had no idea they (the results) were going to arrive in the post.
"I opened it and saw numbers and a graph and there were all these words like 'low' and 'diminished'."
Houghton, who went to see her doctor two days later, said: "He told me that I'd never be able to conceive naturally ... that I had low fertility and that if I wanted to have a baby, I'd have to have IVF.
"He said that if I'd waited another three years, I would never be able to have children at all. I wouldn't have any eggs left."
She added: "There's always the chance I could miraculously fall pregnant naturally, but it's so remote."
Houghton, who has been dating Katie Price's ex Alex Reid, said: "Ultimately it's my fault."
She added: "I hate myself and can never forgive myself. Because of my obsession with food and my crash dieting when I had bulimia, I've ruined my chances of having a baby naturally."
The interview is in this week's Heat magazine, now on sale.

The fact she thinks she'll have trouble conceiving is probably more down to Alex Reid not knowing what to do!

A lot of the negative fertility rates are due to exposure to Electrosmog using electrical gadgets in the home & work. Now it is affecting children due to the increased radiation from phones and games, so it is not necessary about diet fads.

Thank God that people like this are unable to breed.

Let's hope it's true. Fewer rich brats brought up by nannies and minders, existing solely so that their so-called parents can pimp their pictures to trash magazines, can only be a good thing.
