Baz Bamigboye: My revealing chat with racy Rose

It was a baking hot night and Rose McGowan, one of the stars of Quentin Tarantino's fabulous female revenge movie Death Proof, sashayed outside for some air.

We were at the amfAR bash and it was sweltering inside the marquee set up for the occasion.

Ms McGowan was wearing a shimmering Elie Saab gown with all manner of cut-outs.

"I thought I'd have plenty of ventilation in this dress, but I feel as if I'm in a sauna," she joked. "It needs to rain."

Ms McGowan is the main actress in Planet Terror, directed by Robert Rodriguez, the first part of what was Grindhouse, a double bill of movies with Death Proof.

In the Rodriguez film, Ms McGowan (as I told you a few months ago) has a machine gun fitted to the stump of her leg so she can shoot flesh- eating zombies.

Then, of course, there's Tarantino's Death Proof, in which she plays the victim of a homicidal stuntman.

The pair of pictures have now been re- edited, with footage added, and will be released in the UK separately, with Death Proof coming out here in September.

The new version of Planet Terror will go to the Venice Film Festival and open in the UK later in the year.

Ms McGowan's next movie will be Black Oasis, about Z-list actress Susan Cabot, who was murdered by her dwarf son.
