So much so, that it seems Becks may even have swapped the career which has seen him captain the England team 58 times for a stint in American football.

The football star was pictured out in Madrid wearing shoulder pads (no, not another fashion faux pas this time) and helmet for a game of American football - the national sport of his future home.

Perhaps Posh could give Becks a few fashion tips - shoulder pads aren't quite de rigeur for men this season

But footie fans need not worry. The outfit was just part of a stunt used in an advertising campaign for Adidas in which Becks tries out American football and New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush tried out soccer.

It was all part of a competition to see which was better - Futbol or Football. Judging by how good Beckham looks in his oversized outfit - it's a tough call by anyone's standards.

Beckham is free to try out a few more games of American footie now that he has officially left Real Madrid. Old "Golden Balls" played his last match for the side earlier this month and helped them to claim championship victory.

While he has been playing out his last few matches, wife Victoria has been busily getting their new home ready in Los Angeles and raising a few plucked LA eyebrows with her choice of high-maintenance garb.
