Big Brother unveils new multicoloured 'eye'

In an effort to distance themselves from the racism row which blighted the celebrity version of Big Brother, Channel 4 has unveiled a new 'multicoloured' logo designed for the new series of the controversial reality show which starts next month.

The new look features a multicoloured eye with the design which echoes that of television test cards created in-house by 4creative.

Designer Daniel Eatock says his brief was to "embrace all colours within the spectrum, opposites, complimentaries and all shades in-between."

The new eye logo will be shown at the beginning of the Big Brother 8 series, which starts June 1.

An insider told The Mirror: "The logo is colourful and vibrant with different elements, and that will apply to this new series of Big Brother."

Big Brother bosses are set to introduce elements into the new series designed to "bring the fun factor back".

A "caravan of love" will be parked in the garden - and despite the friction caused by Celebrity Big Brother's Masters and Servants task, bosses plan to divide BB8's housemates between Heaven and Hell.

The house, currently under construction in Elstree studio, Herts, will also have a "secret garden" behind a hidden door.

A production team member told The Mirror: "Some housemates will live like kings, while the others are stuck outside rain or shine. BB is not going to lose the toughness. It's still a hard game."

Big Brother has a new sponsor in Virgin Media and the company will also be producing idents to go with the show.

Virgin Media took up the sponsorship after Carphone Warehouse decided to break ties with the show following the row over racism that erupted during the recent Celebrity Big Brother.

Last year's Big Brother ran into controversy for Channel 4's handling of a promotion with Nestle's Kit Kit to find a new housemate.

The draw to choose the housemate was accused of being rigged.

The broadcaster was cleared of the accusations but warned that it must obey stringent regulations when holding any other such live draw on TV.
