Blonde ambition: Paris Hilton pays homage to bombshell Marilyn Monroe

Gentlemen prefer blondes - just ask Paris Hilton.

The heiress arrived on the red carpet for the LA premiere of her new film The Hottie And The Nottie yesterday wearing a shocking pink figure-hugging dress - just the gown made famous by her hero Marilyn Monroe.

Thinking pink: For the LA premiere of her new film, Paris Hilton wore a gown inspired by Marilyn Monroe's iconic outfit from the 1953 movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Paris has long held an affinity with 50s sex symbol, saying back in 2006: "There's nobody in the world like me. I think every decade has an iconic blonde - like Marilyn Monroe or Princess Diana - and right now, I'm that icon."

The 26-year-old was joined at the event by her parents Rick and Kathy Hilton, along with the her co-star Christine Lakin and Entourage star Adrian Grenier.

In the upcoming film, "hottie" Paris vows to abstain from men until her "nottie" best friend finds a boyfriend.

But she insists she does have the occasional off day. She told Parade magazine: "I think we're humans. All girls feel like a 'nottie' some days - like someone who isn't turning heads.

"That's just part of life. I just get a facial or a massage. Pampering yourself gets you back into 'hottie'-ness."

For her next acting role, the star - who was reportedly kissing 24 actress Elisha Cuthbert at a New York club last week - plans to make a guest appearance in The L Word, the series about lesbians.

She says: "It's true. I have no idea what kind of character I'll be playing, but it's a good show."
