Britain's got talent - and a new top no 1 album from Paul Potts
22 July 2007
The 36-year-old singer, a former mobile phone salesman, found fame after his operatic voice won him the TV talent show last month.
His album One Chance outsold the number two release, We'll Live And Die In These Towns by Enemy, by over 100,000 copies last week.

Winner: Paul Potts, who now has a number one album to his name
Potts, from Port Talbot in South Wales, said: "To even get through the first round of auditions was unbelievable and to be honest even winning the show hasn't sunk in yet at all - having a number one album is more than I would ever have dreamed of.
"My life has changed so much in the past month and in such amazing ways. I'm so grateful to the TV show and everyone I have worked with and to my amazing wife Julie-Ann who is with me every step of the way."
Potts signed a £1 million deal with Simon Cowell's record label SyCo Music, part of Sony BMG after his rendition of Nessun Dorma impressed television audiences.
His old employers at Carphone Warehouse are selling copies of One Chance in stores - the first time the company has sold records.
Movie bosses are now keen to put Potts' story on the big screen.
