Raided: Bailiffs forced their way into George Sampson's home over an unpaid council tax bill
Police were called to the home of Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson after bailiffs barged their way inside in a row over an unpaid council tax bill.
The 15-year-old breakdancer’s mother Lesley was terrified when the two men forced their way into the house after her older son Luke, 20, failed to pay the £500 bill.
George – who won £100,000 on the ITV talent show – was at the family residence when the incident occurred.
A friend told The Sun, ‘Lesley was really shaken up. The family have been advised only to open the door to people they know, but the bailiffs just pushed their way past her. It’s disgraceful.’
Lesley was not aware of the bill registered to her address and paid the amount herself.
The proud 39-year-old has reportedly refused to accept any money from her teenage son.
‘He offered to pay the bill, but Lesley wouldn’t hear of it and told him to save his money.
‘George keeps saying he wants to pay off their mortgage, but Lesley says it’s his money and wants him to keep it in his savings.’
The family previously installed round-the-clock security after fans continually flocked to the home in Warrington, Cheshire.
The windows are covered with newspaper in a bid to stop people taking photographs.
Shaken-up: George's mother Lesley, pictured with his estranged father Brian on their wedding day in 1988, had no knowledge of the £500 bill
Last night, police confirmed that they had been called to the house.
A spokeswoman for George said: 'The police were called because the family felt unsafe with the way these people entered their home.'
Lesley split from George’s father Brian five years ago and the talented star now has no contact with him.
The 40-year-old recently attempted to reconnect with his son but George rejected his father - insisting that he is only interested in his fame and fortune.
‘He didn’t want to be part of my life before,’ he said. ‘I used to send him tickets to my shows, but he never came.’
