Troubled Britney's tearful demeanour had disappeared by the time the singer checked into a hotel for a steamy liaison with magician Criss Angel, just hours after the latest revelations concerning her legal battle.
In another instalment which will no doubt make an appearance in the explosive dossier of Britney's wild behaviour being compiled by ex-husband Kevin Federline's lawyers, Britney is said to have spent the night in a Beverly Hills hotel with the magician, after sending her bodyguard to the store get some condoms.

No angel: After wiping away her tears following a meeting to discuss her custody battle, Britney allegedly spent the night with magician Criss Angel
Entranced: Britney and Criss drank Dom Perignon champagne and drove around in his Rolls Royce before returning to the hotel together
The chaotic star was seen returning to an LA hotel at 4am with the magician after a night drinking Dom Perignon champagne.
Despite earlier being left distraught by a mid-day summit with her solicitors over her looming custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, according to The Sun, Britney met notorious charmer Criss, 39 — who was recently linked to actress Cameron Diaz — at LA restaurant Cravings.
The Vegas showman, who stars in his own TV show called Mindfreak, invited her to spend the night with him — and she agreed. They tried to check in to the exclusive Hotel Bel-Air but staff refused them a room.

Hotel, motel: Britney and Criss spent the evening at the Towers Beverly Hills hotel, leaving only to drive around in his Rolls Royce
Britney, 25, is said to have been banned from the hotel since checking in there after her famous meltdown when she attacked a photographer with an umbrella.
The pair then went to The Tower Beverly Hills hotel where they were seen holding hands on the way to their 11th floor suite and spotted opening a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne on the balcony.
At 2am they came down clutching champagne and went for a late-night drive in Criss's Rolls Royce Phantom. They then returned to the hotel at 4am — after allegedly ordering Britney's bodyguard to pick up some condoms at a 7-Eleven store.

Driving Miss Britney: Britney gives ex-husband Kevin Federline more information for his explosive dossier
An onlooker said: "Britney seemed entranced by Criss."
The magician's tricks include levitating, walking on water, passing through glass panes, hypnosis and even chopping a woman in half.
It is the latest in a string of indiscretions for Britney — who last week romped topless in a pool with a complete stranger.
Pictures of her antics led Federline — to push for sole custody of their kids.
Pictured leaving her lawyer's office, the 25-year-old singer was clearly distressed as she made her way to a car wearing dark glasses.

Alli Sims and Britney Spears: Sims has been summoned to provide a statement testifying to Britney's fitness as a parent
Romp: Britney was allegedly caught topless in a pool romp with former assistant Shannon Funk (above)
Her ex-husband Kevin Federline, 29, has served legal papers on some of her closest friends and associates in an attempt to win sole custody of the couple's young sons, asking them to testify as to Miss Spears's fitness as a parent.
The divorce was finalised less than two weeks ago, when the couple agreed to split custody 50-50 of Sean Preston, 22 months, and Jayden James, ten months.
But a source close to Federline said that following reports of her increasingly erratic behaviour - including claims that, in a separate incident to last week's alleged pool romp, she frolicked topless in a pool with former assistant Shannon Funk - he became worried that she was exposing the boys to "unnecessary risk" and decided to apply for sole custody.
His lawyers are said to have sworn affidavits from three of Britney's ex-employees – a nanny and two bodyguards – to back up the allegations.
One former employee said: "She'll strip down in front of staff. She'll ask: 'Do I look sexy? Do I look pretty?' She's extremely insecure.
"She'd share stories about her married life with her staff and it would make them feel very awkward, especially when she talked about sexual positions."
Miss Spears also faces a series of potentially damaging allegations involving her sons, which include: screaming at the boys in a rage saying they were "mistakes", getting blazing drunk in front of them, and keeping them up late at night to ensure they do not wake her early.
Britney is further accused of giving the children fizzy drinks and coffee with cream and sugar and attempting to have 22-month-old Sean Preston's teeth whitened.
Miss Funk was the third of Miss Spears's associates to be served with legal papers.
The singer's childhood friend and ex-assistant Alli Sims, 26, received a legal summons as she left a private party, and bodyguard Daimon Shippen was served earlier this week as he was getting out of his car in Santa Monica, California.

Britney befriended a couple of girls when she checked into a hotel for the afternoon before she entered rehab
Earlier this year, she spent 28 days in rehab at Malibu's Promises Treatment Centre.
In court yesterday, lawyers for the couple agreed to a September 14 hearing date. Federline's lawyer said his client believes it is in the children's best interests to be with their father.
Miss Spears married Federline in September 2004 and filed for divorce in November 2006.
Her legal woes come as perfume maker Elizabeth Arden prepares for an autumn advertising campaign for her fragrance, Believe.
It has been claimed that the firm used a stand-in for Miss Spears's body after she stormed out of a photo shoot, but a spokesman insisted it really was the singer.
