Bryan Ferry tells his ex: 'Take me back and let's have a baby'

Bryan Ferry is so desperate to win back ex-girlfriend Katie Turner he has told her he is ready to become a father again at 62 if they can rekindle their romance.

The Roxy Music singer, whose solo hits include Let's Stick Together, has been secretly wooing 27-year-old Katie with flowers, expensive meals and countless phonecalls and texts since their split last month.

"Bryan has been devastated and completely lost since he and Katie parted company," a friend tells me.

"They broke up mainly because he felt he was too old to be a dad again. But Katie, being young, wanted a family.

"Since she moved out, Bryan has bombarded her with calls and text messages. They have been in constant touch."

My source added: "Bryan has come full circle and said he won't rule out having a family with Katie. He wants them to be happy and back together again. He adores her.

"She is really thinking about going back to him. She loves him and wants to make the relationship work. She has gone away for a few days to think about things."

News of the couple's split after six years together surfaced when Ferry turned up at a London dinner party and suggested to friends that he was single.

His previous reluctance to become a father again centred on his age and the fact that he has four grown-up children with ex-wife Lucy.

But the singer has now told the pretty brunette he is ready to start a family with her after all.

The couple split once before in 2003, when Katie was photographed lugging boxes out of their flat in Kensington, West London. They got back together shortly afterwards.

After the latest split, Katie moved into another flat in Kensington where she intends to live while she thinks about her future.

"The ball is in Katie's court," said the friend.

"She has to decide whether she wants to get back with him."

The pair met in 2002 when Katie was a backing dancer on one of Ferry's tours.

The singer has said of their age-gap: "It doesn't seem weird to me at all. I know lots of people of different ages. I don't just hang out with people who are 60."
