Carrie Bradshaw caught in a fashion nightmare

Sarah Jessica Parker looked to be living a fashion nightmare as she hit the streets of New York in pyjama bottoms and Wellington boots while filming the latest scenes for Sex and the City.

The actress, who plays trend-setting columnist Carrie Bradshaw, looked distinctly like she'd dressed in the dark and later topped off the look with her favourite fur coat, sparkling handbag and a string of pearls.

Her fellow costars Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall were also busy filming - Miranda is spending time with son Brady while Samantha is back on the rampage.

Parker, who plans to step out of the spotlight next year to spend quality time with her husband Matthew Broderick and son five-year-old son James, has remained tight-lipped about the fate of her onscreen alter ego.

Meanwhile, her co-star Kristin Davis has described the experience of returning to the set as "overwhelming."

Davis, who plays hopeless romantic Charlotte, said recently: "Before we did the movie we thought, 'Oh, we're ready, we can handle it, we had it before'. But we were not prepared for the intensity."

She also dismissed persistent rumours of on set fighting between the cast and Kim Cattrall, insisting: "We're good."
