Producers of the programme, which will be re-launched on Channel 5 on August 18 after 10 years on Channel 4, would like housemates to be able to drink whenever they want, as they believe it will loosen them up and make for great TV viewing.
An insider said: "Fans don't want to see a bunch of people sitting around being boring. They want to see them getting drunk so they get randy, go bedhopping and let slip some of their sauciest secrets.
"But as always with 'Big Brother', there's a twist. If the group misbehave or break the rules then they'll be punished with special-natural torture frights."
Celebrities rumoured to be taking part include Amy Childs, Pamela Anderson and Kerry Katona and her mother Sue.
Another contestant reportedly being lined up is Sally Bercow, the outspoken wife of Commons Speaker John Bercow.
"Sally is obviously not shy and has never made it a secret that she has views on nearly absolutely everything," said a source.
"It's fair to say that she's a professional antagonist - the house will not be boring with Sally in it."
However, the news has not gone down well with politicians, with Tory MP Rob Wilson saying: "John Bercow said he wanted to restore respect and dignity to Parliament in his manifesto for Speaker. I am not sure how Sally Bercow going on one of the country's tackiest shows helps.
"Is it really appropriate for the Speaker's wife to use Parliament for her own financial gain? After all, the only reason for the invitation is because her husband is the Speaker, I would urge her to think very carefully about what she is doing."
