Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 24 hours in jail and 10 days community service after pleading guilty to seven misdemeanour offences.
Her punishment came on the same day another young celebrity, Nicole Richie, was released from jail.
Lohan, 21, was not in court in Beverly Hills as a judge read out her sentence following her arrest for drink-driving.

"She's getting what everyone else would get," Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers said after the hour-long hearing.
Lohan was charged yesterday with seven misdemeanours stemming from two drunken-driving arrests in the last four months.
The Freaky Friday star pleaded guilty, and more serious drug charges were not filed, prosecutors said, because tests showed there was not enough cocaine on her to warrant them.
Her lawyer, Blair Berk, entered a plea deal with prosecutors at a private hearing.
The glamourous star has faced trouble in the past for her drinking and driving habits
The judge later accepted the "no contest" pleas for two counts of driving under the influence, being under the influence of a controlled substance and one count of reckless driving.
He put Lohan on 36 months' probation and ordered her to attend an alcohol education programme for 18 months.
Richie, meanwhile, was released just 82 minutes after the pregnant actress checked in for what was originally a 90-hour sentence for driving under the influence of drugs.
The reality show star, who turned up at the jail in the Los Angeles suburb of Lynwood, at 3.15pm, was released at 4.37pm according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's office.
