Cheryl Cole wants new home in Malibu

Cheryl Cole is house-hunting in Malibu.

The Girls Aloud singer is keen to relocate to California on a permanent basis in a bid to crack the States and wants a beachside property after seeing pictures of the Beckham family enjoying their rented home their last summer.

A source said: "Cheryl loved the pictures of the Beckhams on their own beach at their rented Malibu home and she wants the same. She wants to be near the ocean."

Although her attempts to crack America were dealt a huge blow last year after Simon Cowell axed her from the 'X Factor' judging panel, Cheryl is determined to prove him wrong.

The source added to heat magazine: "She wants to prove to Simon that she can be a star in the US - Cheryl knows she's got what it takes."

Her manager and good friend will.i.am is also convinced she can become a Stateside superstar.

He has previously said: "Why does she need 'The X Factor'? She has some really great tunes."
