Demi Moore checks into hospital suffering from "exhaustion"

Demi Moore has been rushed to hospital suffering from "exhaustion".

Paramedics were called to the 49-year-old actress's Los Angeles home on Monday night. After a 30-minute assessment, she was taken to a local hospital, according to TMZ.com

Matt Spence, spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, said: "I can confirm that we received an emergency call at 10:49 p.m. for an unknown illness related to that address.

"We transported at least one patient to a local hospital. The patient was transported at 11:21 p.m."

However, sources have told E! News that the mother-of-three was "shaking" and "acting like she was suffering from a seizure".

Moore filed for divorce from husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher, last year after he was accused of infidelity.

Her representative said in a statement: "Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health.

"She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."

In light of the incident, Moore's representative confirmed she has dropped out of the upcoming biopic of porn star Linda Lovelace, in which she had been cast as feminist icon Gloria Steinem.
