Insecure side: Cheryl Cole on GMTV
The Girls Aloud star is up against Michael Jackson's compilation This Is It next week and doesn't have high expectations for her offering, 3 Words.
She said: "Guess who I'm up against for my album? Michael Jackson. What is wrong with my people? I may as well just accept that I may not be in the top 10."
Not exactly the kind of humility you'd expect from a national sweetheart.
Her former X Factor protégée Alexandra Burke looks headed for the top spot in the singles chart this weekend with her song Bad Boys. Chez releases her debut solo single on Saturday, Fight For This Love, so let's hope she doesn't get beaten into second place in both the singles and album charts.
The 26-year-old X Factor judge also revealed her insecure side, saying she feels like a "minger" before she puts her make-up on.
"I get a lot of days like that," she told the Kiss 100 Breakfast Show today. "Until I've been sat in the chair and had my hair and make-up done, I feel like a minger. I'm sick of the sight of myself."
She is due to perform her single on Sunday's X Factor show in a controversially pre-recorded slot, but insists she will be singing live. She was on the GMTV sofa today, where she said she was banning her family and friends from going to the studio to watch her — especially her bandmates in Girls Aloud.
She added: "The girls are itching to come down to support me when I perform but I kind of don't want them to — because it is more scary."
