Cheryl, who has reached impressive success in her own right, has long been critical of footballer's wives and girlfriends who live luxuriously off their partners income.

She has said: "I work hard for my money. I don't ask Ashley for a penny."

The star, who married Cole in a lavish wedding last year, has also spoken of her desire to start a family.

She said: "We definitely want children in the next couple of years, but I'm in no rush. I want to enjoy time with Ashley without any responsibilities."
