Pictures of the 21-year-old daughter of TV royalty richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan emerged last month, showing her taking cannabis at a party in Norfolk a year earlier.

Chloe has since apologised, but told The Eye that she thought the scandal would mean the end of her hopes to make it on the small screen. She said: "At the time I really did think my TV career was in ruins. I was, like, 'What have I done?' I was so stupid. I had to sit down and talk to my parents, and it was hard and say, 'This is what I've done'."

Her case wasn't helped by the fact that her father Richard, 52, said last year: "Both our kids are incredibly anti-drugs. They have friends that do them but they actively discourage it."

And Judy, 60 , added: "If one of our kids' friends say to them, 'let's do drugs', they'll actually shout at them." Chloe's scandal begged the question: What do they shout? Speaking at the Sony pub.like.no.other launch party, Chloe added: "It was when I spoke to my management, who said that I should wait while it all blows over, that I got really worried.

"But things are looking up now. I'm doing the red carpet at the [Galaxy British] book awards [in Mayfair tonight]. And I'm in talks to do a couple of other shows." in recent months, Chloe's celebrity stock has risen after being chosen to promote Miss Ultimo lingerie and landing herself a job as a reporter on her parents' latest chat show, New Position.
