Who's who of Young Hollywood turned out to celebrate the MTV Video Music Awards last night, with Christina Aguilera, Lindsay Lohan and chart topper Katy Perry leading the style stakes on the red carpet.
Pop star Christina dazzled in a full length figure-hugging black confection, her plunging neckline ensuring all eyes were on her as she sashayed into the Los Angeles venue.

She later poured herself into a a second-skin leather catsuit as she took to the stage to sing a snippet of her hit Genie in a Bottle, before wowing the audience with a high-energy performance of her new dance tune Keep Getting Better.
A very slender Lindsay Lohan also turned heads on arrival in a thigh skimming black frock, later changing into a backless white top and trousers.

She arrived hand-in-hand with Disney star Miley Cyrus and later took to the stage where she performed a cover of Madonna's Like A Virgin as well as her hit I Kissed A Girl.

Disturbia singer Rihanna arrived in a strapless black top, short black and gold skirt and towering white heels.
She was nominated for Best Female Video for Take A Bow, however the gong was later scooped up by Britney Spears.

The Hills star Lauren Conrad made a stylish entrance in a white mini-dress while her nemesis Heidi Montag opted for a black off the shoulder number.
Ashlee Simpson settled on a flowing gown, standing out from the crowd with one notable accessory - her baby bump.
Mel B spiced up her look with a sparkling champagne-colored mini-dress and heels, while Lady Victoria Hervey and Demi Moore also kept it short and sweet with thigh-high ensembles.
