Coleen wishes Roo was here

Wayne Rooney's credit card enjoyed some respite from Liverpool's designer boutiques this week as the soccer star's wife, Coleen, took a Caribbean break.

Lonely figure: Coleen did her best to enjoy her five-star Caribbean break with family and friends

Coleen, 23, frolicked in the Barbados surf with friends and family. But she seemed to be missing Rooney - despite the five-star hotel on yet another luxury break, she at times cut a lonely figure. Rooney, 23, is laid up for three weeks with a hamstring injury. He tore it last week after he scored in the first minute of a match against Wigan.

He is racing to regain his fitness as Manchester United fight to retain their league title, leaving Coleen to jet-ski for two.

Splashing around: Coleen has fun with her friends

But she can take comfort in a recent poll by Macmillan Cancer support showing that she is in demand as a " celebrity confidante". she came sixth, after Gok Wan.

Coleen is apparently on a quest to beat her tally of first-class holidays in 2008, but she will have to hurry - by last August she had already enjoyed nine sunshine breaks.
