Love rat John Stape returns to the street and straight into a sensational kidnapping storyline which sees him become the soap's biggest bad guy.
The teacher's murky past saw him involved in a love triangle with girlfriend Fizz Brown and pupil Rosie Webster.
But the character, played by Graeme Hawley, got his comeuppance when his two-timing was revealed leading Kevin Webster to beat him up for getting involved with his 16-year-old daughter.

Now John is back on the street and determined to win back ex-girlfriend Fizz whatever it takes.
The former teacher who is now a taxi driver, inherits a isolated farmhouse when his grandmother dies.
First he persuades ex-girlfriend Fizz (Jennie McAlpine) to spend the night at the farmhouse, then his attention returns to ex-lover Rosie (Helen Flanagan).

The plot will see him kidnapping Rosie and holding her hostage in what are expected to be shocking scenes for the soap.
Graeme Hawley, who plays John, told the Coronation Street website: 'He's decided he's going to do whatever it takes, so he comes back with one express purpose, which is he's going to win Fizz back.
'He's not quite sure how he's going to do it but he's going to do it.'
