Coronation Street's bad boy David Platt shows his softer side on shopping trip with pregnant girlfriend

On screen, reformed bad boy David Platt's love life has been looking bleak since Tina McIntyre dumped him.

Off screen however, it seems actor Jack Shepherd's life couldn't be further from his Coronation Street character.

Father-to-be Jack was the picture of domestic bliss as he spent the afternoon shopping with 5-month pregnant fiancee Lauren Shippy.

The couple, who have been together for six years, announced they were expecting their first child together last month.

Jack, 20, has reportedly proposed to Lauren, 20,  ahead of the birth.

He is said to have popped the question during a night out in Manchester last month – and friends say she accepted immediately.

Jack said: "When Tina dumps David his whole world crumbles,"

So, how does the lovelorn teenager get her back? By using the oldest trick on the book - jealousy.

David starts seeing more of Amber in the hope that Tina will realise how much she loves him.

Simple plan - but will it work?
