Crooner Tony Bennett leaves his heart in New York City to marry again

Crooner Tony Bennett has married girlfriend Susan Crow - after 20 years together.

They wed in a civil ceremony in New York City with former state governor Mario Cuomo and his wife Matilda as witnesses.

"They were married in a private, intimate ceremony,' a spokesman confirmed.

It is the third marriage for Bennett, 80, and the first for former teacher Crow, 47. The couple, co-founders of the charity Exploring the Arts, will honeymoon in Italy, including a stay at the romantic Tuscan villa of conductor Zubin Mehta.

The velvet-voiced singer - famed for songs such as I Left My Heart In San Francisco - shows no signs of slowing down. In September he will sing at Radio City Music Hall in New York, with guest stars including James Taylor and k.d. lang, to benefit his charity.

Earlier this year he was named the 2007 humanitarian honoree by the United Nations. The Rob Marshall-directed documentary Tony Bennett: An American Classic is tipped for an Emmy nomination next month.

Clint Eastwood is also working on a film about him, The Music Never Ends, while a book, Tony Bennett In The Studio: A Life Of Art & Music, is due out in the autumn.
