Dancing on Ice champion Suzanne Shaw celebrates as she eyes £1m payday

Now a jubilant Suzanne is set for a million pound pay day after winning the popular reality show which last night drew an audience of 12.7million.

The former Hear'Say singer will earn £20,000 per week playing Roxie Hart in London musical Chicago.

Other deals include various sponsorship offers, a two-year, £500,000-a-year contract with lingerie brand Michelle for George at Asda and a £100,000 deal to write a magazine column, according to reports.

A TV audience of nearly 13million watched Suzanne, 26, beat Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain, who had been favourite to take the title.

Both couples had performed their own version of Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean's interpretation of Ravel's Boléro.

Earlier in the evening Former Coronation Street actress Zaraah Abrams, 25, took third place, leaving Suzanne to battle with the 20-year-old former ice hockey player for the title.

Suzanne leapt into the arms of skating partner Matt Evers after learning that she had won.

She told host Philip Schofield she had "loved every single second" of the competition, and admitted she had never expected to make the final.

"I just wanted to get half way through the series and I would have been proud of myself for that," she said.

Her success in the competition was made all the more remarkable because she battled through injuries to produce her best skating for the final.

In January she was left bloodied and bruised after partner Matt dropped her during rehearsals.

And earlier this month she fractured her ankle in training leaving experts in doubt over whether she could carry on in the competition.

But Suzanne danced through the pain and become one of the show's most liked celebrity contestants.

She was famously dumped by love-rat Darren Day just weeks after she gave birth to their son Corey, now three, with him telling her: "I don't do family". She now dates DJ Jason King.

Suzanne got off to a flying start earlier in the evening wowing judges with two perfect routines.

The singer scored the highest mark of the series receiving perfect 6.0's from all five judges with her flying routine to the classic Time to Say Goodbye, which moved host Holly Willoughby and professional judge Karen Barber to tears.

She was rewarded with another full set of six points for her second dance to Music by Madonna.

Nicky Slater, one of the judges, said: "Suzanne, all night you have been on fire.

"It has been wonderful. You can do everything and it's the way you present, your partnership is extraordinary. You are my winner tonight."

Former Corrie actress Zaraah also did well, scoring a total of 27.5 out of 30 in her first routine, but the performance was not enough to see her through to the end.

Surprisingly Chris floundered at the bottom of the table with a performance that was not polished enough for judges Ruthie Henshall and Jason Gardiner who gave him just 4.5 out of 6.0 giving him a total of 25.5.

He was gracious in defeat, saying: "I don't mind. I've got to the final.

"I want to thank my mum and everyone. I want to thank my coach and everyone."
