Bond is back: Daniel Craig will reprise his role as super-spy James Bond for a reported £13million

Craig won a huge pay rise following the box office success of his first outing as Bond, Casino Royale, which took over £300 million at the box office to make it the biggest-grossing Bond film ever.

The fee is said to be twice the amount he originally negotiated with production company Eon.

Paid in full: The actor who made his name in television drama Our Friends from the North has signed up for two more outings as the famous British spy

Leon Forde of movie magazine Screen International, said: "The fact is that he's become integral to the success of the Bond franchise and I'm not surprised that he's been given a new contract.

Forde added: "Eon are obviously doing everything they can to keep him on board."

Chester-born Craig first made his name in Our Friends In The North in 1996 before starring in films such Sylvia, Road To Perdition and Munich.
