Victory: As Danielle Lloyd left court yesterday, she said she was 'relieved it was all over'
Her solicitor-advocate Simon Smith told Mr Justice Eady that Miss Lloyd had earlier given an interview to Eve magazine in which she described how, in 2005, she had been given a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes as a Christmas present by her then-boyfriend, footballer Teddy Sheringham, who was a judge of the 2006 pageant.
The linked article at the centre of the case was the front page of an edition of the Mirror which reported "Miss Cheat Britain! Miss GB is sacked for fibbing about fling with Judge Teddy". Danielle was stripped of her crown in November 2006 - nine months after winning.
Mr Smith said: "The truth is that the interview given by the claimant in Eve magazine was untrue".
Miss Lloyd did not in fact begin her relationship with Mr Sheringham until after she had won the Miss GB title.
She met him for the first time at the party on the evening of the pageant, after she had just been crowned, which was confirmed by Mr Sheringham in a witness statement.
The Jimmy Choo shoes were a personal gift to Miss Lloyd from Mr Choo himself in 2005.
Mr Smith said that Miss Great Britain Ltd was now satisfied that what was said in Eve was untrue and that Miss Lloyd did not cheat and was not in a relationship with Mr Sheringham at the time of the 2006 pageant.

Tears and tiaras: Danielle's title was removed in November 2006 - nine months after she was crowned
"It was a matter of importance to the claimant that this be recognised, especially by the pageant organisers who are in the best position to know whether any cheating occurred, in light of the considerable publicity at the time, and since, which suggested the contrary.
"In light of that recognition, the claimant is prepared not to pursue this libel claim."
After the brief hearing, Miss Lloyd said: "I'm just really relieved that it's over".
