Danielle's £40k necklace from beau Bent
04 May 2007
Just weeks into her relationship with footballer Marcus Bent, the Charlton Athletic ace has splashed out on a £40,000 diamond Tiffany necklace for her as a get-well present.
Dani, 23, who previously dated ageing West Ham footballer Teddy Sheringham, underwent a serious operation last week to remove one of her new £7,000 34FF implants after doctors found a suspicious lump which they feared could be cancer.
But where there's a Premiership footballer, there's usually a pricey present to come with such an ordeal, as lucky Danielle knows all too well.
A source close to the Celebrity Big Brother beauty said: "Danielle was sick with worry, she has been so frightened after she was told that the doctors were worried she could have cancer, and so was Marcus.
"He has been brilliant to her, and she keeps telling everyone that she wouldn't have got through it without him.
"When he gave her the gift her heart skipped a beat, she really wasn't expecting it.
"Teddy always spoiled her with romantic meals but she's never received anything like this before."
Dani was over the moon with the gift - and with getting the all-clear from the docs.
A source said Bent, 27, has gone as far as having both of their initials engraved into the platinum necklace as he shows that he is more serious about her than 41-year-old Sheringham ever was.
But while Danielle is delighted, Bent is having to put up with continuous ridicule from his team-mates.
They take the mickey out of him on a daily basis for dating the model, who was shamed after appearing on Channel 4's Celeb Big Brother in January.
Along with Jade Goody and Jo O'Meara, she was labelled a racist for her comments towards Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.
The source added: "The boys think it is hilarious that Marcus and Danielle are together - they refer to her as a tacky, wannabe Victoria Beckham and they slag him off saying he's dating Teddy Sheringham's sloppy seconds."
After being released from hospital this week Dani did what she does best and hit the town with her pals.
She was in Mo*vida ahead of her court appearance today where she was successful in contesting a story in the Star on Sunday, which claimed she enjoyed a two-hour sex session with a DJ shortly after meeting him for the first time.
It was alleged the pair were caught on CCTV in the club's changing room. Danielle vigorously denied the incident took place and has accepted a public apology.
Express Newspapers have agree to make a donation to The Linda McCartney Memorial Trust on behalf of Danielle.
