Rhydian, who also got on the wrong side of Sharon Osbourne, said of Dannii: "I think we grew closer as the competition heated up but she never liked me in the first place."
Runner-up Rhydian, 24 from Powys, added "I genuinely don't think she likes me! I adore her, she's lovely but I just don't think she gets me at all.
"But there you go. People in life are always going to like you or hate you."

The Welsh singer added of Sharon: "Obviously she hated me to begin with, that's fair enough.
"Thankfully I don't get stick from the main guns, Simon and Louis. In my eyes - no disrespect to Sharon - they're the people behind the record company and management side of things," he told Heat.
"Sharon's on record as saying if people are nasty about her family she'll send them a letter full of s***.
"And my mum's threatened to do that if Sharon crosses the line!"
The Welsh singer said to be furious after claims hundreds of fans could not get through during the show's final on Saturday, where he lost out to Leon Jackson.
But he seems to have supporters in high places after Gordon Brown reportedly wrote an astonishing letter to Rhydian backing the loser in the phone vote scandal..

Scandal: Leon won the final but thousands complained they couldn't vote for Rhydian
The Prime Minister is said to have penned the personal note to the Welsh Singer because of his "personal interest" in claims by fans that the show's final was rigged.

Media Secretary James Purnell has also asked to be kept informed about allegations that viewers deliberately blocked viewers from voting for Rhydian, 24.
Nearly 3,000 fans have complained to TV watchdogs Ofcom since Leon, 18, beat the hot favourite in Sunday's X-Factor final.
But few would have predicted the PM's involvement in the row.
Rhydian's mother Angela, 56, of Sennybridge, said: "We had no idea he was following The X-Factor but Rhydian said it was a very nice note wishing him well."
Downing Street declined to comment on the letter to Rhydian, saying it was a "personal matter".
Ofcom have ordered ITV – who claim Leon won by a 10 pet cent margin – to hand over all records and documents from the final, including a full breakdown of the figures.
Ed Richards, the watchdog's chief executive, revealed the request for information in a letter to Mr Purnell.
An ITV spokesman told the Daily Star it would "fully cooperate" with Ofcom.
Meanwhile bookmakers William Hill has halted betting on Leon topping the Christmas charts, and agreed to pay out wagers received, over fears of a betting scam.
