Mills won praise from the judges for the sizzling routine, overcoming last week's slip-up, when she fell, grabbing 23 out of a total 30 points, leaving the charity campaigner and her partner, third from the bottom.

Last week Heather attempted to impress fellow passengers on a Virgin Atlantic flight by performing a mid-air dance.

Unfortunately her audience didn't prove to be as receptive as the shows' judges. Only one passenger clapped at the end.

Another flier said: "It was totally embarrassing for everyone."

This week on the show the pair danced a passionate Paso Doble, with Heather baring her stomach in a revealing cropped top and gyspy skirted outfit.

Fully embracing her exotic role, Ms Mills showcased a cornrowed hairstyle, and writhed around on the floor to gain the judges plaudits.

Heather and Jonathan have made it to week six of the tough dance competition and this week performed the passionate dance the Paso Doble

It seemed to work as judge Bruno Tonioli lauded her efforts. He said: "It was Heather Mills: The Opera."

Never one to shy away from controversy, in an interview on American Idol host's Ryan Seacrest's radio show, Heather commented on Alec Baldwin's angry messages to daughter Ireland.

She said: "I know a lot of fathers, and I won't get specific, who have spoken to their daughters like that and get upset."

Cryptically, Mills also mentioned that her ex-husband, Paul McCartney, has a relationship with Baldwin: "He's a good friend of Pauland they have a lot in common."
