David Beckham hires help as get-well gift for sick father

David Beckham is splashing the cash on his sick father, just days after it was revealed Ted Beckham had to get a second job because he never takes any money from his millionaire son.

David is now back in LA after jetting to London last week when his father suffered a major heart attack.

However, he has made sure his dad won't have to lift a finger when he's released from hospital.

He has hired a housekeeper and a cleaner to keep Ted's Chingford house tidy while he recovers, while a chauffeur will drive him anywhere he wants to go. And all because David himself can't be there to help out.

Family matters: David, who returned to LA with David earlier this week, has hired a maid, cleaner and chauffer for his father

The LA Galaxy star also ordered his dad's favourite flowers and given the housekeeper a shopping list of Ted's favourite healthy foods - including M&S gammon steaks, lamb and healthy vegetables - which he wants in the house on his dad's return.

Ted recently admitted he eats very unhealthy food and has to work two jobs because he's short of cash, but millionaire David has now decided to chip in and make sure his dad is well looked after.

The chauffeur will collect Ted from the hospital when he's discharged and be on hand if he needs to go anywhere.

Help on hand: Ted Beckham suffered a near-fatal heart attack

A source says: "David was struck by how homely Ted keeps the Chingford place and wanted him to come out of hospital-to a clean and bright home. He's sorry he can't be there himself to help his dad have the easiest recovery possible but he has commitments in LA.""

David went to his dad's Chingford house personally last weekend and collected all Ted's favourite DVDs of him playing for Real Madrid and brought them to his hospital bed, according to the source.

Ted also requested a photograph of Brooklyn that David had framed for him 18 months ago and hand-delivered to Ted's door.
