Unwell: David Gest was rushed to hospital after experiencing chest pains
The 54-year-old former husband of Liza Minnelli was taken ill at his home in Hampstead, north London, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
He is being treated in a private London hospital and will remain as a patient over the Christmas holidasy.
His hospitalisation means Gest has been forced to cancel his first solo tour, David Gest Is Nuts - My Life As A Musical, which was set to begin in February.
A spokeswoman said: "With regret, it is announced this afternoon that on the advice of doctors David will have to postpone his tour.
"He remains in a private London hospital and is expected to stay in over the Christmas period.
"Rehearsals for the tour were due to begin in two weeks but doctors have told him that he needs to rest for the next three months."
Gest set up home in Britain after finding fame on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and last week appeared in panto in west London apparently dressed as his ex wife.
His health problems come days after Minnelli collapsed as she came off stage in Sweden. She is now being treated by doctors in the U.S.
