They're also the perfect way to spell out your initials on a pair of green wellingtons.
At Glastonbury to perform on the festival's final night, Dame Shirley Bassey showed how a true diva deals with dirt.
Unlike the plain, mud-encrusted clompers worn by most of the festival crowd, her £3,000 customised boots were sparkling - and were clearly going to stay so.
The Welsh singer, 70, touched down in a helicopter from Monte Carlo, and then insisted that a 12ft red carpet be unfurled wherever she set foot. Backstage, the pampering continued. Her dressing room was stocked with flowers and champagne, and she had asked for a special honey and lemon mixture to soothe her voice.
But it did not all run smoothly - the star reportedly avoided a helicopter crash by mere seconds en route back to London. The chopper came within inches of pylons before eventually landing safely.
She told the Mirror: "What a horrid ordeal. I'm so glad we somehow made it down safe."

Shirley wows the crowds
Clearly thrilled to be playing her first Glastonbury, she began her set with a high-octane rendition of Pink's Get The Party Started.
After an energetic 40-minute set she disappeared backstage and within hours was in the helicopter, mud-free and Monaco-bound.

The average festival-goer had a more perilous time of it.
A record 1,900 of the 177,000 revellers were injured during the event, which was lashed with 3in of rain. Most were hurt while slipping in the quagmire.
There was one death during the three days, a 26-year-old man, from a suspected drug overdose.
