Diana Ross has mixed feelings on 'Dreamgirls' movie

"If in any way my life and what our music has done, and what we stood for has made a difference, has made it possible for movies like 'Dreamgirls' to be made, I am just really proud of that fact," Ross said before her return to the Detroit area for a concert next week.
Ross, 63, grew up in Detroit public housing, the second of five children, then climbed to fame as part of the Motown music machine.
"I have not seen ('Dreamgirls') because I know it is not our story, and I know that they have taken images and likenesses of our story and used that," she told The Detroit News.
"So I'm confused as to how I should react, because I'm complimented on one hand, but it's not something that's true. People are going to think there's some truth there, when there's not."

Ross says of the film, 'I'm confused as to how I should react, because I'm complimented on one hand, but it's not something that's true'
Ross said the flurry of activity around the release of her new album "I Love You" has been "food for the soul." She performs Monday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
"It's a fun thing," Ross told the Detroit Free Press. "It's a privilege to walk onstage and do what I do...The hard part about touring is the travel. But I like performing. Who wouldn't, anyway?
"Dancing in the lights with beautiful gowns, singing the songs, looking at the audience, looking into their eyes. That's my privilege."
