The Desperate Housewives turned on a sizzling salsa dance for the opening act of the ALMA Awards and proceeded to make an impressive 18 costume changes while hosting the event.

During a flashy dance routine, the star wore a skimpy red sequinned number and teamed up with her pal Mario Lopez, who competed the U.S. competition Dancing with the Stars last year.
But rehearsals for the salsa number didn't prove easy. Longoria told US magazine People: "My back is sore, Mario stepped on my feet - we really beat each other up!"

Still, the former beauty pageant contestant didn't show any signs of strain as she sashayed across the stage in a range of different gowns.
Other presenters on the night included Jessica Alba, Andy Garcia and Eva Mendes.
