Doing time: Rebecca the first housemate to be sent to Big Brother's jail

Big Brother contestant Rebecca became the first housemate to be sent to compound's jail last night after she opened a large envelope delivered with the shopping.

Her incarceration in the tiny cell wasn't because of bad behaviour, but instead, just bad luck.

She discovered a note inside the envelope which directed her straight to the garden's prison as Big Brother producers deliver on their promise to get tough with this year's contestants.

After discovering the instructions, Rebecca responded: "Oh my God Big Brother, please don’t let me miss the party."

Behind bars, Rebecca, known for occasional melodrama, screamed and hit the wall before saying: "Oh, why did I open it?"

She received a visited from Kat, who kindly offered her a bit of the giant cookie Big Brother had also delivered.

Luke offered to trade places with her, fuelling speculation of a budding romance between the pair.

Mikey said: "It is a shame because you wanted to party more than anybody. I’m sure we're allowed to feed you titbits. Even prisoners are allowed food. It'll be fine."
