Duffy makes £100,000 from Mercy royalties

Duffy's song Mercy has earned her about £100,000 in royalties alone after being the most-played song on radio and in bars and restaurants last year.

No begging: Duffy

The No1 by the Welsh singer was followed by hits from Take That and Coldplay in generating the most royalties. Music service company PPL, which collects the money, said it brought in £127.6 million for all artists based on airplay last year.
