Either you're getting smaller Katie, or your clothes are too big for you

Katie Holmes has traded in high maintenance Hollywood chic for the look of a jobbing actress, wearing the same outfit two days in a row during rehearsals for her new play.

During an outing in New York on Thursday the usually sleek actress stepped out in a see-through vest and low-slung  jeans, which swamped her petite figure. Her new look was more in keeping with that of a stay-at-home mum than the multi-millionaire wife of Tom Cruise.

But Katie obviously liked her new look, wearing the same rolled-up jeans with a clean white t-shirt and oversized navy jacket yesterday.

On the go: Katie's look was uncharacteristically thrown together

The casual style was reflected by her footwear, with the slim-line mother at ease in sandals and ballet pumps, rather than her usual sky-high heels.

Her wash and go hair had clearly received very little attention and her huge sunglasses covered most of her make-up free face.

The star was attending a rehearsal session for her upcoming Broadway show, All My Sons, which opens in October.

Mrs Cruise thrown herself back into work in recent months after taking time out to raise her 2-year-old daughter Suri.

She recently wrapped filming a guest appearance as a nonprofit attorney in one episode of US television drama Eli Stone'.
