Emily Mortimer steps out as a sex doll

She had donned the shoes for the world premiere of the delightful comedy Lars And The Real Girl.

It stars Ryan Gosling as an emotionally shattered young man who begins an exceedingly proper relationship with a sex doll named Bianca.

"We were all very respectful of Bianca when we were making the film and that was the key - to believe this doll was somehow real," Emily told me.

"I'm wearing my sex doll shoes because they're exactly what Bianca would have worn."

Lars And The Real Girl was a surprise hit at the film festival.

It will be interesting to see if general audiences embrace it in the same way.

Emily has just started filming Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin, Jeremy Irons and John Cleese.
