He's a Hollywood star known for his individuality and unconventional film choices.
Yet Ewan McGregor appears to have succumbed to tinseltown's obsession with cosmetic surgery and had a mole removed from his forehead.
The Star Wars actor, 36, has been snapped at the Venice Film Festival where he is promoting his latest movie Cassandra's Dream, minus his once prominent birthmark.

Recently the Scottish actor revealed the secret behind his youthful looks - and it didn't involve going under the surgeon's knife.
McGregor credits removing his body hair shaves ten years off his looks.
"I've found ways to cheat the ageing process," McGregor said.
"I shave my chest because having it hairy makes me look older."
Whether McGregor had his mole removed for medical reasons is unclear.
Other famous names who have retained their prominent facial birthmarks - include Sarah Jessica Parker, Cindy Crawford and Madonna.

Crawford's mole on the top of her lip seems to have become as iconic as the supermodel herself.
"The mole on my face isn't the type that's dangerous, but I have others and I get myself checked every year," Crawford said recently.
"I had three removed - two on my back and one on my belly," she added.
