The Duchess of York: Bravely going without make-up as she met Prince Andrew
If there were ever a time to pay extra attention to your appearance, you'd think dinner with your ex-husband would be it.
But the Duchess of York appeared to be bravely going without make-up as she met Prince Andrew and two daughters for dinner at Cipriani restaurant at London.
Her casual approach to getting ready appeared to extend to her outfit, which was a somewhat haphazard mix of blue velvet jacket, purple scarf and black dress.
To top off the look – which was reminiscent of fellow eccentric dresser Helena Bonham Carter – she'd also got her striped tights in a twist.
The outfit also accentuated her unusually gaunt appearance.
The Duchess has confessed in the past to problems managing her eating habits, but has in recent years acted as a spokesman for Weight Watchers in America.
Still, it's unlikely that her dinner companions minded her lack of grooming much.
The Duchess enjoys a famously good relationship with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, and the elder of her daughters, Princess Beatrice, has confessed she adores her mother so much she'd like to be a "mini-mummy".
Joining the Yorks was 19-year-old Beatrice's American boyfriend, Dave Clark.
He was enjoying being reunited with his Royal girlfriend, who has been travelling round South American on her gap year.
The Yorks weren't the only branch of the Royal Family playing happy families on Thursday.
Prince William was around the corner at fish restaurant Scott's, enjoying a meal with his step-mother the Duchess of Cornwall, and her children Tom and Laura.
The Prince of Wales was notably absent, although Clarence House insisted it was perfectly normal for him and the Duchess to dine separately.
